Love Yourself Meets Pampanga's Best!

Angeles City, located within the province of Pampanga, a first-class, highly urbanized city; the first but definitely not the last stop of our exciting provincial tour in facilitating both HIV Summit and Candlelight Memorial last May 10, 2012. The event gathered both private and public communities and representatives in order to disseminate awareness and education on HIV and AIDS.

The event started at 8:00 am for the HIV summit, it focused on the current HIV & AIDS cases in Angeles City, of the whole Philippines, and the world. The program involved exciting and engaging simulations  and workshops that allowed the audience to participate actively. Thanks to our very energetic facilitators and speakers led by Dr. Jon Fontilla from the Pilipinas Shell Foundation who provided all the essential technical information about the HIV & AIDS, STI, and more, while our President & Founder, Ronivin Pagtakhan, discussed one of the most intriguing topics which was Gender, Sex, and Sexuality.

The event was so successful that it even exceeded the expected number of participants and we are so thankful to the indefatigable efforts of all members JCI Angeles City Culiat with it's President Mr. Voltaire Zalamea and Project Head Sigfred Sanchez Catalan.

This event was also notable since we received overwhelming support from the local government of Angeles with its Mayor Ed Pamintuan, and better half, Mrs. Herminia De Guzman-Pamintuan who are both truly concerned of a healthier Angelenos. In the evening, the second part of the program was the celebration and commemoration of the 29th International AIDS Candlelight Memorial for Angeles City. The event was graced by Dr. Eric Tayag of Department of Health, Dr. Jun Lopez OIC of Philippine National AIDS Council, Mr. Edu Razon of Pinoy Plus and Mr. Edgar Veron Cruz of Pilipinas Shell Foundation Inc- all of them shared their hopes, wisdom, and further commitments to this type of projects. Our friends from media like Punto Central Luzon Newpaper, Philippine Star, GNN 44 and ABS CBN were all there to cover the event, thank you. LOVEYOURSELF, INC. JOINS AIDS CANDLELIGHT MEMORIAL IN SAN PABLO CITY.

LoveYourself, Inc. joined the AIDS Candlelight Memorial held last May 11, 2012 at Dona Leonila Park in San Pablo City, Laguna. The memorial was meant to remember people with HIV/AIDS who passed on and give encouragement to those who are still fighting. 

This year, the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial is committed to ending HIV by raising awareness and advocating for the advancement of effective policies at all levels with its theme, "Promoting Health and Dignity together…"

Highlighted was the UNAIDS Strategy of Getting to Zero: Zero AIDS Related Deaths, Zero New HIV Infections and Zero Stigma and Discrimination. Ensuring access to treatment, prevention, and care; reducing stigma and discrimination; increasing resources for HIV, malaria, tuberculosis, and other related issues; and promoting greater involvement by people living with HIV and key populations - were the key issues presented to the public.

Pledges from government agencies, civic groups, non-government organizations, advocacy groups, transport groups, bar owners, sex workers, students, and individuals were declared. Soon after, candles were lit one after the other. The atmosphere turned golden as the flames spread. The fight against HIV/AIDS has become more intense.

This event was organized by the San Pablo City Local AIDS Council and the City Health Department, with support from various organizations, including LoveYourself, Inc.

The Love Yourself Hub

Once upon a time, Ronnievinn had a dream. He envisioned a place for People Like Us, where one can drop and just let his guards down, trusting that the environment would embrace any person, all of that person, every bit of the person. He organized a group, later on called "Love Yourself," effectively cementing the profound yet universally relatable idea about self-love. It meant many things to many people, yet it was made concrete with the idea of a physical location where people can come, dare to be who they really are, care for themselves and others, and share each others joys and wonders.

In June, 2012, a year after the first inspiration came, we celebrate with unspeakable gratitude the opening of the Love Yourself Hub. It is the physical manifestation of a dream first thought of as crazy, but with the persevering hope of thousands who shared that dream, it will soon be a reality. As real as the walls and doors, floors and ceilings that represent its physicality, it actually is love made real and concrete.

The Love Yourself Hub is, first and foremost, a safe place for People Like Us. It will host various activities, catering to our many interests. It will be our tambayan, our home, our cozy little space of love and belongingness. Soon, we shall open it for anyone whose hearts beat perhaps in a different cadence than most, yet radiate the same intensity of love and caring for everyone.
